Bahcesehir Koleji met Umana Reyer Venezia on the road for the fifth gameweek of the 2020 – 2021 7DAYS EuroCup season. The Red Dragons fought until the very end but eventually lost in the overtime period with 88 – 82.
The Red Dragons started the game with Rıdvan Öncel, Erick Green, Jamal Jones, Burak Can Yıldızlı ve Josh Owens five. Erick Green led the guests with his brilliant start from behind the arc and Bahcesehir Koleji jumped ahead with 13 – 4, just over 6 minutes to go in the first quarter. The hosts balanced the game thanks to Julyan Stone’s efforts and the first quarter was concluded with Bahcesehir Koleji’s 23 – 20 lead.
Both teams had a slow start to the second quarter and first five minutes were past with 26 – 29. In the second part of the quarter, Julyan Store regained the offensive leadership and the teams went to the locker rooms with Venezia’s 42 – 36 lead.
The hosts came off from the lockers strong and jumped 13 points lead with three minutes into third quarter. Rest of the quarter was past with three point duel and the teams entered the last quarter with 66 – 60 Venezia lead.
Bahcesehir Koleji fought hard in the last quarter and kept its rival within reach despite Venezia’s good percentage from behind the arc. Both teams couldn’t beat each other and the game went to overtime with 78 – 78.
In the overtime period, Bahcesehir Koleji couldn’t stop its rivals and lost the game with 88 – 82. This result means the Red Dragons lost fifth game in a row in the 2020 – 2021 7DAYS EuroCup season.
Bahcesehir Koleji’s top scorers were Erick Green with 22 points, Alex Perez with 19 points and Ismet Akpinar with 9 points.
Bahcesehir Koleji will meet HDI Sigorta Afyon Belediyespor on 31th of October, Saturday for the sixth gameweek of the ING Basketball Super League.
